History of Soulard

Soulard is the oldest residential district in the city of St. Louis, and began growing in the 1840's. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and a City of St. Louis Historic District. Named for Antoine Soulard, whose widow, Julia Cerre Soulard, gave 2 city blocks for use as a public market. Soulard Market stands there today.

Wack-A-Doo Swing at Rue Lafayette

Got to listen to a wonderful group, Wack-A-Doo , who play Vintage 1920's swing. They played at Rue Lafayette last night and perform all over St. Louis. Listen to a clip on their website.
